Join with us on a brisk fall morning, at 9:30 am October 16 ( meet at the main park entrance), to see the start of winter water bird reappearance at Brooks Point Park. During the summer many of the water birds are not seen on Pender. Harlequin Ducks for example are in the interior where they nest along fast flowing rivers. Others like Common Murres are at their nesting colonies farther north where they nest on rocky cliffs. Common and Barrows Goldeneye and Buffleheads are similarly occupied elsewhere in summer. However as fall comes on many of these birds come to spend the winter in the bays and coves on Pender.
