It is the time of year when moss is at its brightest verdant green and what better time to go for a walk and try to identify some of the 60 plus species that grow in the rich west coast forests. Included in this large list is about 20 species commonly found on Pender. Bob Vergette, the leader of the walk, has a reasonable knowledge of the mosses found on Pender but is no means an expert. If anyone has a really good knowledge and would like to help lead the walk please contact Bob at 250 222-0410 before the walk. The walk will start at parking area at the George Hill park trail head at the junction of Walden Road and Ogden Road in Stanley Point at 9:30 on Wednesday, February 19. Everyone is welcome to attend and learn.
See you there.
