Join PIFN as we welcome marine biologist, researcher and educator, Ramona de Graaf, for a presentation on forage fish. They may be small, but they’re a big deal!
As prey for hundreds of other species, super-abundant forage fish such as herring, smelt and capelin are the cornerstone of the marine food web. The need to understand and protect spawning beaches led Ramona to form an alliance of citizen scientists in 27 communities monitoring 32 shoreline areas.
Admission $5. Refreshments to follow.
